Cricket Biography:

Sam Birchall (20) is an all-rounder from Perth. Sam’s junior career started at South Perth CC playing representative cricket in the U13, U14 and U15 premiership winning sides, before school cricket commitments took over. Representing Trinity College in the 1st XI Darlot Cup competition in both 2009/2010 and 2010/2011, Sam was a part of the winning 2009/2010 side, highlighted by a top score of 101.

Since school has finished, Sam has returned to playing cricket for South Perth CC, playing senior cricket in the Perth Grade Competition. In the 2012/2013 season, Sam was again apart of South Perth CC premiership winning sides, winning the 4th grade premiership and also the Colts premiership (U21).

Sam played 3rd grade in the 2013/2014 seasons, winning the bowling award for 3rd grade.

Sam played in 2nd grade throughout the 2014/2015 season, finishing 3rd in both the batting and bowling awards, also helping the Colts team reach a semi final.

After a strong preseason getting fitter and stronger, Sam is looking forward to a strong 2015/2016 season, and is looking to cement a sport in 1st grade side by the end of the season. He believes a season in England would help develop both his batting and bowling and make him a more rounded cricketer. Sam is also very keen to get involved the coaching and social aspects with a club in the UK, and looks forward to any opportunities presented.
